If you are a "zero pouf" kind of bride, a drop veil may be exactly
the look for you. Conceptually, it is easiest of all to imagine. The veil is simply a piece
of sheer fabric, usually oval or round,
draped over the head. In the purest sense, a drop veil has no gathers at all
(although you may find those that do), and it is usually held with a
hat pin. The two halves fall around your head, with the front half forming a
blusher.
Mantilla veils are one example of a drop veil. Other examples are below.
One of the advantages to this type of veil is it is easily adjustable; you
can make the blusher piece as long or short as you would like. Or, wear it
folded back to give the appearance of a two-layer veil. It can also be attached
with a pin at the base of a bun at the back of the head, causing the veil to
drop down the back. Again, you can easily
choose where each "tier" falls on your back and shoulders.
